The legislature period is of five (5) years

The National People’s Assembly legislature starts by full right on the tenth day following the election day.

The opening session is chaired by the oldest member assisted by the two youngest members and they constitute the provisional bureau.

The mission of the provisional Bureau ends with the election of the Speaker of the National People’s Assembly.
