THE CONSTITUTION OF
of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria

 LAWS

 The President of the Republic,

 Considering the Constitution, mainly its articles 3, 174 and 176;

 Upon advice from the constitutional Council;

 After adoption by the Parliament with its two Houses;

 Promulgates the constitutional revision law which terms are as follows:

 First Article – An Article 3 (a) is added and worded as follows:

 " Article 3 (a) – Tamazight is also a national language.

 The State works for its promotion and its development in all its linguistic varieties in use throughout the national territory ".

 Article 2 – The present constitutional revision law is published in the Official Journal of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.

 Algiers on Moharram 27^th, 1423 corresponding to April 10^th, 2002.
